"Here's Johnny!" Jack Nicholson is great here as Jack Torrance, whose mind is taken over by infernal forces in the loneliest, scariest, most claustrophobic ski-lodge that you can think of. This film strangles you mentally and emotionally. And then there are the visions, which are some of the creepiest in the genre. The signature touches of Stanley Kubrick's genius can be found all throughout. It's no surprise that many consider this the best horror film of all time.
